SU189 Oh So Pretty!

I have wanted to try one of these dresses that I seen a coons age ago! I believe it was on Patty Bennet’s Blog that I first seen it. I suspect she used the Scallop Circle Bigz Die by SU!. I had already invested in the Nesties scallop circle dies so I never bothered with SU’s! I can’t find the Search Box on Patty’s Blog to double check it – I could also be blind! I believe the waist on my dress is a little thicker than what I remember hers as being and that is probably the difference in the dies.

SU092 Faux Cloisonne

Faux Cloisonne
Select brightly colored images from glossy magazine pages. Avoid images with faces, text or white spots.   Try not to touch the areas of the page you intend to emboss as the oils from your fingers will cause embossing powder to stick and will create smudges and ruin the look.

Rub the entire surface with an embossing buddy – a used Bounce sheet works too. This will ensure that embossing powder sticks only to the ink.

Choose a stamp with fine line details, but not too much detail. Small, open areas are good.   You also want one that is fairly easy to cut out and that will compliment the glossy colors you have chosen.  Ink with Versamark and stamp on the glossy magazine paper.

A pre-heated embossing heat tool will reduce the risk of burning or browning the glossy magazine paper so turn it on for a minute or two.

Sprinkle your stamped image generously with Gold Embossing Powder.

Apply heat, moving the heat tool around as the embossing powder changes from a dull gold to bright and shiny gold.

Set aside, and allow to cool.  Mounting onto a dark colored cardstock makes the image really pop.

Once your stamped image is glued down, fill the void or unstamped areas on your embossed piece with Crystal Effects to really give a cloisonne look!

Ink - Rose Red, Versamark.

SU106 Crayon Resist

Crayon Resist

Stamp your image in Black Memories or StazOn ink on to Glossy White card stock.  Give the black ink time to dry before coloring your image with your crayon; otherwise the lines of your image may smudge.
Color areas you want to remain white or that you want different from your background color, using a Crayola White  Crayon.
Use a brayer or sponge daubers to cover the entire surface of the card stock with ink.
Wipe off excess ink with a paper towel to
take the ink off your crayon marks.

Stamp Sets - Time Well Spent, Tidy Alphabet.

Cardstock - Summer Sun, White, Black.

Ink - black Memories, Summer Sun.

Accessories - white crayon, paper towel, brayer, sponge.

Picture instructions can be found HERE.
